Mark Dickinson

Managing Director

Mark Dickinson is a senior investment professional with more than 20 years of real estate and alternative investment experience. His core competencies include strategic capital allocation, portfolio risk management, and advanced tax mitigation and passive income strategies.

Mark began his career in financial services in 2001 at Legg Mason and later joined Cohen and Steers in 2009, where he worked closely with advisors and institutional investors. In 2013, Mark transitioned fully into alternatives, developing deep expertise in structuring, positioning, and distributing real estate investment solutions to Registered Investment Advisors and independent broker-dealer channels.

As Managing Director at Petra, Mark advises 1031 exchange investors on constructing highly diversified and customized passive income portfolios. He is known for his disciplined approach, market perspective, and long-term partnership mindset.

Mark earned a bachelors degree in Business Management from the University of La Verne. Prior to his career in finance, he served 18 years in the United States Navy as a salvage diver and submariner. His military background continues to shape his leadership style, grounded in accountability, precision, and performance under pressure.

Based in Southern California, Mark enjoys golf, home renovation, and time on the ocean. He and his wife actively support Serving Seniors and foster rescued dogs.
